This book describes the C.A.R.E. Technique. The C.A.R.E. Technique is an easy-to-learn and extremely effective method of both conducting and documenting oral wellness interviews with lifestyle clients. A knowledge of the C.A.R.E. Technique empowers gospel health evangelists to confidently and responsibly engage in their work of ministering to the physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs of individuals and groups and to lead people on a journey towards optimal, integrated wellness.
C.A.R.E. is an acronym which stands for “Completing the Investigation,” “Assessing the Situation,” “Recommending Lifestyle Changes,” and “Educating the Client.” By following the steps in the C.A.R.E. Technique formula, gospel health evangelists are able to effectively and responsibly lead individuals to optimal wellness via their health coaching practice.
In this book, you will also learn how to conduct a completely oral client consultation, how to conduct a consultation using an abbreviated questionnaire, how to deal with difficult clients, how to effectively encourage your clients to make lasting lifestyle changes, and tips on teaching health principles.
As appendices, this book also contains a sample abbreviated questionnaire and a sample C.A.R.E. note so that gospel health evangelists are able to create their own questionnaires for their clients and so that they will be able to professionally, responsibly, and accurately document their consultations in a way that physicians with whom they consult can understand the details of the client’s case.
